Spotlight on Superhero! Calm and focusing movements.

This Superhero sequence is perfect for a class that that may have just a little too much energy to focus, because it requires both strength and concentration. Try it to help calm the excitement with back to school first thing in the morning or right after lunch / recess!

What it is: This is a sequence to help energize little kids! It’s a combination of Hero 1 (Warrior 1), Hero 2 (Airplane) and Lightning Fingers (squat).

Why we love it: It’s a great energizing sequence that helps strengthen the ankles, calves, thighs and spines. Little kids will love the superhero theme!

How to do it:

  • Begin by standing in Mountain pose with hands on hips.

  • Move the right leg behind you and bend your left knee over your ankle.

  • Either keep your hands on your hips, or lift them high above your head.

  • Step back foot forward to meet your left and return your hands to your hips.

  • Lift your right leg behind you and learn your torso forward.

  • Hands can stay on hips or stretch forward.

  • Step your right foot forward to meet your left and return your hands to your hips.

  • Now step your right foot out wide, heels in toes out.

  • Sink your tail to the floor in a squat and reach your arms in front of you.
